Cedric and Omar!

Okay so last night I had this weird ass dream. I was walking in front of my grandma's house following Cedric and Omar from the Mars Volta. There some other kids following them too, and they were singing a song off there new album. It was really dark out too. I was running to catch up with them and ran in front of them and started walking. I turned to see if they were behind me and Cedric suddenly transformed into a square gate blocking the sidewalk. I walked up to it (or him?) and I was gonna open the gate. I was slowly moving my hand toward the gate because I was sort of scared of what might happen. Then the gate just opened by itself, almost as if to say "come on in," so I walked through the gate back towards my grandma's house. At this point I think Cedric and Omar were gone. I didn't know what to do because it was dark and I was alone and I knew my grandparents had to be asleep. I just stood there in the dark for second wondering how I was gonna get home. Then I woke up.

Snake Bite

Last night, I remember one of my dreams somewhat. I was at some school that I apparently was attending, and I was with a class. We were sitting outside on the campus playing some sort of game that involved snakes, and on my team I had the job of holding the snake by the head so it didn't bite anybody. I think it was a rattle snake and it had really long, sharp fangs. The snake's teeth were digging into my hand because it's mouth was open. It hurt really bad, but I just held it tighter because I didn't want it to get away and hurt somebody. Then the game was over and I wasn't holding the snake anymore. I was beginning to walk home when this guy called my name and I turned around and greeted him. It was some asian guy that I'd never seen before, but in the dream he was one of my friends and I think he had a crush on me. We were gonna walk home together, but I suddenly realized that I'd forgotten my backpack in one of my classes. I turned to run and get it, but before I could someone else called me and it was this guy I know (I'll call him Chris). I was happy to see "Chris" and I completely disregaurded the fact that I still didn't have my backpack and began walking with him. I felt bad because my asian friend was walking behind us and I sort of just ditched him for this other guy, but I was really excited to see "Chris" and I sort of had a crush on him. So I was just walking along talking to this guy and then he said he had to go to his class, so I said bye and he walked off in another direction. The end. This dream is kind of boring when you read it, but the setting was really nice. The campus I was on looked like a university campus and it was surrounded by a forest. It was really cool looking. Almost magical..... ;)

Bone Dry...

So yeah... I don't remember my dreams last night. I'm kinda bummed I didn't have a lucid dream because I really thought I was going to. I even did a little experiment to try and help. I usually sleep on the right side of the bed and my sister sleeps on the left, so I thought maybe if we switched sides we would sleep lighter, and be able to recognize when we're dreaming a lot easier. It didn't work.... :(

A Strange Possession

So last night I had a pretty scary dream. I was at someone's house and there was a party or some kind of family gathering going on. All my aunts and uncles and cousins were there and my parents and there friends too. I think it must've been late because I left and walked home, which in this case was right across the street. When I got there my sister and her boyfriend were talking and she wanted me to go with her back to the house because it was haunted. She wanted me to help her get rid of the demon. So I followed her back outside and as we were walking up the steps of the house she let out this animalistic scream and passed out on the ground. My grandpa came rushing over to help. I was holding her up and she had this huge boil on her head. My grandpa had a glass filled with water upside on a plate and he placed the plate on my sister's head and proceeded to tap the bottom of the glass three times. While I was holding my sister she was thrashing around in my arms and it became obvious to me that she was possessed. I closed my eyes and imagined this cloud being pushed out of her. After awhile she layed still and the demon was gone and so was the boil. My grandfather had trapped the demon in the glass of water. I now remember I saw that on the history channel while I watching A Haunting.

New Dream

So today I was in an airport with my family and I ran to follow them and a lady stopped me and held out her hand like she wanted something. I showed her my pass and she said something to me and I told her "No, I'm not boarding a plane." Then I saw this guy who was supposed to be my brother but he obviously wasn't. He apparently had just returned from the army and he turned to leave and I called him a liar. He was trying to join the marines even though he just got back from serving in the army. I chased after and I was really upset and crying. The rest of my family was chasing after him too. I finally caught him because he fell on the ground and I fell on top of him. I was hugging him and crying and he just smiled at me and said that he would stay. We stayed like that for awhile and we were talking, but I don't remember what was said. The weird thing about this dream is that the people who supposed to be my family didn't look like anyone in my family at all. In fact, I didn't even look like myself. It was almost like I was watching a movie or something, except sometimes I was first person POV, so I knew I couldn't have been watching a movie. It was one the more emotional dreams I had.

Sleep Positions

Okay... So back when I became really interested in astral travel and OBEs I would look up information on the web about it all the time and one of the tid bits of info I came across was that if you sleep in the supine position (on your back) you're more likely to have an OBE. Today I was wandering if maybe that applied to lucid dreaming as well, so I looked it up. I found out that lying on your back also increases your chances of having WILD (wake induced lucid dreams), and that lying on your right side is good for DILD (dream induced lucid dreams). I guess lying on your left side is nothing special. I think tonight I'll try sleeping on my back, but if I can't get to sleep in under an hour I'll just sleep on my right side. Tomorrow I will post the results of this experiment. :)

Dry Spell....

So last night I didn't have any lucid dreams... in fact, I couldn't remember any of my dreams when I woke up. I feel like I'm doing all this work but getting no reults.. Tonight I think I'll try experimenting with binaural beats, maybe that'll help me out. I've read a few times that listening to binaural beat will increase your chances of having lucid dreams. Any other suggetsions would be great. :)

Reality Checks- to help induce lucid dreaming

1. Flip a light switch. Usually when dreaming, any switches or buttons won't work or function correctly.
2. Close your mouth and hold your nose. In dreams you'll still be able to breath.
3. Look in a mirror. Sometimes in dreams you might have a different hair style or you might be wearing something you wouldn't normally wear.
4. Throw an object in the air and catch it. In dreams when you throw an object it might move slower or hover for a moment before falling.
5. Try pushing your finger through a wall. If you're dreaming you may be able to do this.

*Use several different checks throughout the day to help with lucid dreaming. Good Luck!

Lucid Dreaming: How To Have A Lucid Dream

Author: Tenzin Pemo

Maybe pigs cannot fly yet, but you sure can. At least in your dreams. Lucid dreaming is a mysterious art form that many people wish they could master. You may have experienced a lucid dream, in which you were aware you were dreaming.

But would it not be great if you could have that self-awareness on a regular basis, and as a result able to influence your dreams?

Dreaming is realizing you are dreaming as you dream. When you reach the Lucid Dreaming state, you will be able to control your dreams and experience anything you wish.

Maybe you would like to take a flight through the sky or make other impossible things possible. Or maybe you would like to tell your boss you think he is unfair, without getting fired in real life.

There are many appeals to lucid dreaming, and if you can learn the elusive skill, then a world of excitement and an opportunity for personal growth await you.

I remember standing out on a deck in the foggy night air and having a most peculiar, amazing thought: I am dreaming right now. I can walk through walls. And then I immediately walked through a wall! Well, at least in my dream!

I will never forget this accidental lucid dream and I certainly would like to experience something like that again. But how? In order to become an expert lucid dreamer, you must understand the basics of the art.

1) Why not just have normal dreams?

What is the effect of lucid dreaming? Not only do we all desire to control our environment and make fantastical things happen, but a dream is a safe place to rehearse for our waking life.

This is not to say our real world fears and anxieties do not follow us into our sleep, but no character or plot we conjure up in our dreams can physically harm us and no one but the dreamer will know what happens in a dream.

This means that a baseball player can practice his swing, a politician can practice her speech, or a newly widowed man can find love again - all without actual consequences.

Lucid dreaming gives people a forum; a place they can test the water or fulfill their desires. It also gives them a place to confront their fears. When we are able to control our dreams, we can turn those nightmares into memorable, productive fantasies.

2) How to lucid dream

Many folks spend years and years perfecting the craft of lucid dreaming, but if you are like me, you are not about to dedicate your time and energy to such an endeavor.

After all, you probably have a full-time job or children to worry about! So what are some simple tips to having clear, lucid dreams? Luckily, there are easy things you and I can do to control our dreams.

a. Keep a dream journal

The first step toward effective lucid dreaming is to log all your dreams on paper. As soon as you wake up from a dream, jot down everything you remember from it.

Do this every morning as well. The better your dream recall, the better your ability to lucid dream will be. One of the goals of maintaining a dream diary is to find out if you are already having lucid dreams as is! You may very well be.

b. Notice trends

Now that you have a log of your dreams, you can begin to take them apart. Are there patterns to your dreams? For example, do certain objects always show up, is there a setting that you commonly dream about, do you feel your dream is first or third person, etc?

Once you notice these regularities, you can then train yourself to respond to them with the question - Am I dreaming or is this real?

If you raise your self-consciousness and doubt, lucid dreaming is all the more possible.

c. Expect to lucid dream

Every night before you go to sleep, write down on paper - I will have a lucid dream.

Studies have shown that when you suggest things to your subconscious, while conscious, your suggestions are often taken to heart!

So if you plan on having a lucid dream, say so.

d. Short is not as sweet

Many people complain that they cannot prolong their lucid dreams. There are three techniques to doing just that. When you realize you are in a dream, spin around, rub your hands together, and focus on an object in it, repeating to yourself - the next scene will be a dream.

After you practice some of these techniques, you may want to invest in lucid dreaming products and courses too.

One of the biggest mysteries about lucid dreaming is whether or not the ancient art serves to increase the frequency of lucid dreams or on the other hand, simply improves lucid dream recall.

Either way, the more aware we are of our dreams, the more aware we will be in our waking life. If we want clarity about real world problems, we can gain it by having clarity in our dreams!

Lucid dreaming is closely related to astral projection! So, I would be sharing some of my lucid dreaming journeys here and I wish you many sweet lucid dreams this evening.

My First Dream Post- Talking Fly...

Alright, last night, the first dream I remember was very short and is still blurry. All I can remember is that I was in front of a grocery store (I think it was Albertson's) and I was playing on the grocery carts. That's it... Well, my next dream is more interesting and more vivid. I was in what was supposed to be my room and my sister told me to take a shower. I thought this was weird because when I looked at the clock it was 8 and I don't usually take showers that late (actually I only take showers in the morning). So, I started getting to take a shower and I for some reason I remembered that we had whipped cream in the fridge, and I really wanted some. So, I decided I was gonna have some hot chocolate with whipped cream before I got in the shower. I went over to my dresser to get a shot glass (because apparently I drink hot chocolate from a shot glass now???) and I saw one that I had used before. I know this because the glass was dirty and still has some melted whipped cream dripping down the glass. When I saw it there was a large fly walking aroung in the melted cream. Then suddenly it started talking and complaining about it's problems. I think it was talking to another fly in the room. It was talking about how the other fly had taken his job and he was very angry about it and being very sarcastic. Every time the fly got really angry he would fly around in my face and I would freak and swat the air because I was pretty disgusted. It was a huge fly. Then I woke up. I think the talking fly should've been a big clue that I was dreaming. I'll have to keep working on my dream awareness. :)

Dreaming Info

Okay.... So, lately I've become very interested in lucid dreaming and have been googling like mad. Most of the information I've come across is very similar with few differences and all the sites I've been have recommended keeping a dream journal and remembering your dreams. This way you can make a list of dream signs, which are just similarities in your dreams that you can use to increase your awareness of when you're dreaming. So far, for myself, I've listed: Elementary school, Junior High, the house I grew up in, and now High School. These are all places that I no longer visit. So now, when I suddenly find myself back in elementary school, I can hopefully realize that I'm probably dreaming and do a few reality checks to make sure. This will help me to induce lucid dreams more successfully, rather than just trying to spontaneously be aware of my dreaming. I'll post more on lucid dreaming at a later time as well as some dreams of my own.
~keep dreaming :)
